Biologic evolution

The color of the water pipe in a right circle of the photograph is a
black.
The color of the water pipe in a left circle of the photograph is a
spotted pattern.
Will this be a sign that comes into rut?
Or, will it be a sign of the male/female?
It is a mystery.
